Child Group Teacher

One (1) full-time (40 hours/week) Child Group Teacher opportunity in our First Step Perinatal program.
The Child Group Teacher will work with infant, toddler, preschool caregivers in a substance abuse treatment program within a specialized childcare center.
Qualifications: 1.
High school diploma and a minimum 12 units of Child Development or related classwork or equivalent work experience.

Two years of child-related experience or equivalent training with knowledge of child growth, development, and nurturing guidance strategies preferred.
3.
Physical capability to lift over 20 pounds and engage in physical activity.
4.
For staff with driving duties, a valid California driver’s license with less than two minor moving violations is required.
Essential Job Functions: 1.
Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties 2.

Responsibilities: 1.
Complete a developmental assessment on each child within two months of child starting program.
2.
Clear documentation of client progress in progress notes and update to partner agencies.
3.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for children.
4.
Plan monthly for and implement daily age-appropriate activities 5.
Act as a role model for clients and children.
6.
Assist with data collection to meet program needs.
