Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Automatic Bagging Operator to join our team for the second shift.
Tentative hours are start time of 3pm or 4pm and end time around 11pm.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining automatic bagging equipment efficiently and safely to meet production goals.
This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
*Responsibilities:*
· Operate automatic bagging equipment to fill bags with product from totes according to specifications and quality standards.
· Monitor equipment operation to ensure smooth functioning and adjust as needed.
· Conduct quality checks on filled bags to verify weight, seal integrity, and overall product quality.
· Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as necessary to minimize downtime.
· Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
· Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered during the shift.
· Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve any production-related issues.
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to quality, safety, and sanitation.
· Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
*Requirements:*
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proven experience operating automatic bagging equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred.
· Ability to pass a forklift examination.
· Ability to lift and move heavy bags or materials as required (up to 55lbs)
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Flexibility to work second shift hours, including evenings (Monday – Thursday).
· Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.
· Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
1.
Previous experience in a feed, food processing or packaging facility.
2.
Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on bagging equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to ensure optimal performance.
3.
Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and feed safety regulations.
4.
Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
