We are currently recruiting for the position of: Risk Management Specialist - Modesto, CA /Northern CA The Risk Management Specialist implements, monitors, and trains employees on company Risk Management initiatives.
This position works closely with the Director of Risk Management in evaluation of programs, activities and vendor performance and acts as a technical resource to third-party providers and other functions on insurance activities of the function.
The Risk Management Specialist works with employees and management regarding the Workers Compensation and General Liability claims process and how to mitigate associated costs when claims are generated.
Working with insurance providers and third-party vendors, the Specialist maintains and analyzes claims data and the timely resolution of all open claims.
This position will work closely with store and corporate management in identifying, trending, and improving Workers Compensation and General Liability injuries and losses.
Essential Duties and Key Accountabilities: Plan, organize and coordinate training, education, and presentation on claims processes, policies and programs Monitor data used to identify heightened risks and helps develop risk remediation recommendations Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis the needs and changes of the self-insured claims programs Develop and update insurance claim procedures, references and materials Liaison with Claim Examiners and field locations to when needed for the investigation of claims Maintain and update library of safety training, videos, and correspondence as it relates to discovery requests Compile data and information as it relates to the claims processes and mitigation Assist with the return to work program Assist in the development and updating of claim service instruction for third party administrators Examine claims forms, medical bills, property damage, and other records to determine liability and insurance coverage Refer questionable claims to the specialist or claims adjuster for investigation or settlement Validate data and correct as needed; extract data to create reports for HR/Legal Leadership data analysis Liaison with Safety Team to Counsel/work with employees and locations with high claims rates to evaluate in-store safety program administration Assist with identifying company risks and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations Review processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to promote consistency Assist in Insurance renewal and contribute to budget recommendations Provide program and administrative support to Director of Risk Management; may represent Director at meetings, etc.
May lead projects, as assigned to improve existing programs Stay current in industry trends, changes to regulations Follow all safety policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Hiring pay range: $29.
