*RESPONSIBILITIES AS A WOUND CARE SPECIALIST:*
*Expertise in Wound Care*: Oversee wound care treatments in a nursing home environment.
*Collaborative Environment*: Collaborate with a supportive team where Physicians supervise Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners.
*Continuous Learning*: While experience is appreciated, it's not mandatory.
We encourage you to immerse yourself in wound care education.
*JOB DETAILS:*
*Comprehensive Training*: We provide the materials and support you need to grasp the fundamentals.
It takes about a month to learn the basics, three months to start feeling comfortable, and one year to become a wound care expert.
*Work-Life Balance*: Enjoy the perks of a daytime job, working full-time from Monday to Friday, with absolutely no night shifts or weekend commitments.
*Assigned Facilities*: We group facilities by location and assign them to our physicians, ARNPs, and PAs.
You'll visit these facilities weekly to manage patients' wound care, averaging 2-4 facilities and 18-25 patients per day.
*YOUR ROLE INVOLVES:*
*Thorough Assessment*: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
*Skilled Debridement*: Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
*Medication Management*: Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
*Educate and Communicate*: Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
